FRIT 7233: Book Trailer
Reflection:
This assignment was completed in FRIT 7233. My task for this assignment was to develop a book trailer catered to the age group of students that I teach. I immediately went for a Dr. Seuss book. The famous The Cat in the Hat. My students LOVED that book. To begin my book trailer, I had to start by setting a plan in action for what I was going to do. In my project, I identified my leaner analysis, the background information about my classroom. Another section of the plan was Keller's ARCS Model. This Model had you determine how you would gain your students' attention, how will you make the book relevant to the students, how to build the students confidence and how to make sure your students are satisfied with what they are reading. The last part of the plan was to identify the book for the trailer. The next step was the storyboard. I really enjoyed this phase of the assignment because it gave me a draft on what my final product would look like in the end. It also gave me ideas on what to add and change in my storyboard to make my production much better. The last and final stage was creating a trailer about the book. This was the best and most exciting part of the assignment because I was able to build something from scratch that I have never done before. I was very pleased with my final product. This assignment demonstrated Elements 3.2 and 3.6. For this assignment, I selected an appropriator tool for my students and was able to monitor as well as my students were able to manage and watch the video without any problems.

Online Staff Development-FRIT 7739
Reflection:
When planning for my face to face staff development, I wanted to use tools that could also be used in the online format. I used Weebly as my page format that housed all my information for my staff development. My homepage of my Weebly included my goals, the outline and the syllabus for the course. The next tab, online session, was a guided tour on Nearpod explaining Kahoot and also participating in an interactive Nearpod lesson. In the lesson, the participants answered questions, took polls, drew pictures, fill in the blank assessment. This allowed the online participants to get a feel of how an actual Nearpod this like in student view. The next tab, learn more, gave the participants an opportunity to watch videos, look at posters and charts that explain the process of Kahoot and Nearpod.
There are also videos that the teachers could show their students on how Nearpod and Kahoot work before they participate in the activities. The next tab, share your thoughts, this tab was a poll to see how much teachers use technology and what kind of technology do they use in their classroom. My poll only consists of five questions. Down below is the results of the survey. The results indicated that there were three kindergarten teachers, one first grade teacher, one second grade teacher, one third grade teacher, and two other (instructional coach and media specialist) teachers who participated in the survey. I wanted each grade level to join, but it was tough for me to get people to follow through with completing the online staff development. Majority of the participants felt comfortable giving it a try or very comfortable with technology. Majority of the teachers think that it should be an increase in the training on how to use available resources. The final tab is the participation survey. Each participant completed this survey and recorded on how they felt about the online staff development. Based on the data for the participation survey. Everyone felt that my module was well designed and easy to navigated. I even got a complement from my school supervisor about the resource material I shared with the teachers and how the teachers should print them out to use in their classroom. Teachers look forward to using both Nearpod and Kahoot in their classrooms in the near future. The results are listed below.
